Arkanoid is a classic DOS brick-breaking arcade game that builds on the familiar Breakout formula while adding more style, speed, and variety. Players control a paddle-like spacecraft called the Vaus, bouncing a ball upward to destroy blocks, collect power-ups, and clear each stage without letting the ball fall. What makes Arkanoid memorable is its fast pacing, simple controls, and satisfying mix of reflex-based gameplay and stage-by-stage progression. The DOS version brought this arcade experience to PC players, keeping the core challenge intact with colorful visuals, increasingly tricky layouts, and useful power-ups such as lasers, extended paddles, and multi-ball effects.
