Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest
Le jeu
Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest for the NES is a very different kind of Castlevania game, moving away from the straightforward stage-by-stage action of the first game and leaning more into adventure, exploration, towns, clues, items, and a day-and-night system. Instead of simply fighting through Dracula’s castle, Simon Belmont must travel across Transylvania to collect Dracula’s body parts and break the curse placed on him. The game is often remembered for being confusing, especially because some clues are vague and certain progression steps are not very obvious, but it also introduced ideas that later became important to the series, such as open-ended exploration, RPG-style upgrades, and a larger connected world. While it may feel rough and mysterious by modern standards, Simon’s Quest has a unique atmosphere, memorable music, and a strange charm that makes it stand out as one of the more experimental NES sequels.
