Ecco the Dolphin is an atmospheric action-adventure game for the Sega Master System in which players control Ecco, a young dolphin searching for his missing pod after a mysterious storm sweeps them away. Ecco explores vast underwater environments, communicates with sea creatures using sonar, solves environmental puzzles, battles hostile marine life and regularly returns to the surface for air. Although redesigned for the Master System’s 8-bit hardware, this version retains the original game’s distinctive aquatic exploration, haunting atmosphere and demanding difficulty while introducing several differences from the Mega Drive release.
